Nothing like unconditional love and companionship Nothing like unconditional love and companionship in a family. These two pics of Tom and me is when we held him for the very first time, yesterday in Dallas Love Field airport. We both teared up. We returned back to Vegas on a flight that left two hours after we met him. He was the best little guy. Slept in my arms the whole way. The family meeting was so good. He loved the energy of Doll Face and Mr. President and especially loved being in her arms. Last night he nearly slept through the night. He also has learned to sit already and understands the bell ringing gets him outside. He is coming a long, and he is so loved, and then again, so are we! We have our own Dodger Dog! Ha ha, take that Farmer John! The last picture is the video when the breeder handed him to me as we were meeting for the first time. I FEEL FEAR EVERYDAY DO YOU? 💯 I put myself out th I FEEL FEAR EVERYDAY DO YOU? 💯 I put myself out there and find a passion and then I move toward the vision of the passion. 💯Each time I move forward, I can't breathe, I fear scorn, judgment, failure. 💯After all if I want to feel boxed in and living only the stereotype of an idea of what aging is supposed to be, I would park myself to the side and believe my best years are behind me. 💯But I actually believe that my best years are still ahead of me. 💯Living in your Long-Life Era is a freedom I have never known in my life. I am surrounded by so much more love because I have added now grandchildren to the mix, and I am free to explore passions that were buried deep within without a fear of financial distraction. This is a freedom we did not have when we were young. 💯Today I still feel those same fears, but I have practiced the muscle of not listening to my fears and instead taking a step forward anyway. 💯Hence, Long-Life Era was created and everyday the joy of this project keeps on growing. 💯Recently, I saw a friend in my neighborhood who w 💯Recently, I saw a friend in my neighborhood who was walking as part of her physical therapy after having had a hip replacement. 💯I asked how she was doing and she said, “Marla, I don’t think these Golden Years are as good as they are supposed to be”. 💯I made a light hearted joke, but I actually meant every word of it. I said, “You know when the “Golden Years” get too painful, it’s just a sign that it is time to move into the “Titanium Years”. 😂 💯I was really meaning what I said in jest. A few months back I interviewed a 103 year old woman in our Facebook Group, “Long-Life Era Community Facebook Group”. When I asked her if she had any pain and what she said really surprised me. 💯She said that she had terrible knee pain in her late 70’s when she chose to have two knee replacements at 77 years old. 💯 She said, if she had that kind of pain there is no way she would have had the desire or strength to have lived into her 100’s, now 103. 💯I think this a great lesson to all of us! In 2024, there is NO REASON to live in pain. If you are older than 55, each year you will begin to get happier and happier. Isn’t that good news? 💯 In the U.S. we are in a success-dominated culture, and we are very competitive. It may be one reason why those of us that are in our Long-Life Era™ are not revered and respected for our wisdom and why when we were younger we didn’t respect the wisdom in those older than us either. 💯There is a desire to move us out to make room for others rather than learning to be inspired by the youth and share our older wisdom with them for balance and success. 💯This is changing! We have true purpose. Currently, for the first time in history there are 5 generations in the work place. And we, the baby-boomer generation are leading the change.
